Sara LaFlamme
Actor | Singer | Animal Advocate
ABOUT
ME!
Sara LaFlamme is a New York City based Equity actor, singer, and animal advocate. As a Massachusetts native, she brought her love of New England falls, Dunkin Donuts, and lobstah rolls with her to the city. Sara discovered her passion for musical theatre as a young girl after seeing The Phantom of the Opera for the first time on Broadway. To this day, nothing gets her hyped like the Phantom overture [insert chandelier joke here].
Sara began her training as a classical vocalist, but quickly fell in love with the passion, joy, and unique storytelling of musical theatre. She is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in Theatre, Musical Theatre emphasis. Before moving to NYC, Sara worked regionally with companies such as Seacoast Repertory Theatre, Weathervane Theatre, Virginia Rep, and Florida Studio Theatre.
Though her career has taken her on a very musical theatre journey, she still holds a deep love of opera and classical music. In 2016, Sara was awarded Honorable Mention at the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra Emerging Artist Opera Competition and has continued to sing in opera salons since college. She has been praised for her versatility as a performer having in the same year been nominated for a Theatre Motif Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her work as Kim in Miss Saigon.
Besides performing and storytelling, Sara is a passionate animal advocate involved with organizations like the National Audubon Society, Palomacy Pigeon & Dove Adoptions, and the Wild Bird Fund. Other interests include kickboxing, watercolor painting, Marie Kondo-ing, starting books but not finishing them, consuming cheese, and catching all the Pokémon.
Be sure to follow her on Instagram to keep up to date with her adventures! Cheers!
